About Us

J-Communique is an online service journal for high school journalism teachers and advisers. Ball State University's Journalism Workshops office—a part of the university's College of Communication, Information, and Media and Department of Journalism—publishes it as a free resource as part of its ongoing mission to help improve scholastic journalism.

It has been published for many years in a print version, but this is the first time we are publishing exclusively online. Our goal is to produce four to six issues each year. Each issue will focus on a different topical issue related to journalism education.

The content is produced by various contributors, mostly high school journalism teachers and students. J-Communique is edited by graduate assistant Adam Maksl and Workshops Director Brian Hayes.
